Why does strength training make me a faster racing driver?
In short, increasing the strength of the drivers key muscle groups reduces the level of effort the muscle groups have to exert to create the same force or movement as before. In the real world this means setting a lap a 9/10 physical effort level becomes more like 7/10 physical effort level. This new “free’d up” energy can then be put into pushing harder and improving reaction times due to reduced fatigue.
